The ISTD (Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) staged their Centenary Gala at Sadler’s Wells in London, the 'home of dance' and one of the most prestigious theatres in the dance world, to ensure it celebrated in style and at a venue that compliments this significant milestone in the ISTD’s history.

The Gala was staged to highlight the achievements of the ISTD over the last 100 years from its inception in 1904 up until the present day.

The Gala performance on Sunday 26th September 2004, brought together many different elements from the Society’s remarkable history by looking back through the decades of dance. Encompassing all of the diverse dance styles, this event was a fitting tribute to the enduring quality and excellence that has always been synonymous with the ISTD.

There was a tremendous response from artists in the profession to appear at Sadler’s Wells and Sarah and a few of her dancers from ‘The Live Wire School of Dance’ were deeply honoured to be invited to perform in the 1980’s section of the show.

To complete the evening beautifully the girls met and had their photographs taken with Strictly Ballroom Stars Anton du Beke & Lesley Garrett CBE.
